What is CollegeVote.com?
Our goal is to drastically increase voter turnout in student government
elections across the nation. We hope to accomplish this by providing the
following services:
- allowing student governments to hold their elections over the
Internet, eliminating the need for central voting locations, and
making it easier for students to vote. [ Click

- a FREE Newsletter sent out once every 10-14 days with information
relevant to student elections. [ More

Why did we create CollegeVote.com?
Those of us who created CollegeVote.com are all members of the
community of the University at Buffalo. In the spring of 2002, there
were some very public problems with our Student Government elections.
In addition, our school has had chronically low voter turnout, and
this greatly bothered us.
Talking to students we know at other schools, it became clear that
such problems were not isolated to our University. Based on these
observations, a group of us got together in the fall of 2002 and
began working on a solution to the problems.
How does CollegeVote.com run successful elections?
In March of 2001, the Report of the National Workshop on Internet
Voting was published. This report was put forth by the Internet
Policy Institute and sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
At this workshop, a panel of national experts identified 12 vital
criteria that any successful election system must meet.
To read a list of those criteria, and how CollegeVote.com meets
each and every one of them, click here.
